Description | Held in central Aomori City between August 2nd through August 7th, Aomori Nebuta Festival is one of the three largest festivals in the Tohoku region bringing in more than 3 million visitors from across Japan. This festival was designated an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan in 1980. Over 20 floats full of lanterns and the colorfully-dressed Haneto (Nebuta dancers) provide special performances and a night to remember in northern Japan. |
