Description | Goshogawara in Aomori Prefecture is the birthplace of the beautiful Tsugaru shamisen. Shamisen is a traditional three-stringed Japanese instrument, and the unique Tsugaru version is thought to have been adapted by a homeless blind man by the name of Nibato in the 1800s. At the Tsugaru Shamisen Hall in Goshogawara, visitors can see both the history of this unique instrument, as well as enjoy incredible live performances by shamisen masters. |
