| Description | Although “Juniko” is translated as “twelve lakes” this area is actually a group of over 30 lakes in the Shirakami-sanchi nature park in the Tsugaru region of Aomori Prefecture. Among the main lakes is this pond known as Aoike. The waters here are a deep blue and yet crystal clear – so clear that you can see clear to the bottom on a brightly lit day. It’s a spectacular sight unique to Aomori Prefecture! |
